Turning ideas into assets

DKPTO works on securing an efficient system for protection of IP rights at reasonable costs.

Some legislative initiatives can be carried through by changing national law only, but IP legislation is to a large extent based on internation law. Through active participation in international IPR forums and cooperations, we contribute to shaping the IPR legislation, so the interests of the Danish businesses are taken into account. We also work to ensure a quick and smooth implementation into the Danish legislation. As an example the changes to the European Patent Convention was implemented in the Danish legislation in June 2006 through a change in the Danish Patent Act and after approval by the qualified majority of the Danish Parliament which the Danish Constitution dictates.
