SEE YOU IN E-BOKS
On the 1st of September, 2018, the Danish Patent and Trademark Office will begin our transition to digital post. This means that we will be sending your post to e-Boks instead of your physical address.
Soon you will be finding your letters from the Patent and Trademark Office in your e-Boks. We will from the 1st of September, 2018, send digital post in all Danish patent and utility model cases. Trademark, design, SPC and DK/EP cases will follow.
As public authority, the Patent and Trademark Office is obliged to deliver post digitally to all businesses and citizens who hold a CVR-number or CPR-number. We have been working on a solution for all of you who have been looking forward to receiving your post electronically. We have now reached a faster and better means of communication with fewer expenses for postage and a smaller environmental footprint.
e-Boks: Your digital mailbox
If we have your CVR-number, your post from the Patent and Trademark Office will be delivered to your digital mailbox in e-Boks. You are able to answer back directly in e-Boks.
More information about e-Boks
We begin with patents and utility models. Trademarks and designs will follow
All our correspondence will not become digital at once. We will begin by sending digital post in Danish patent and utility model cases. Initially, supplementary protection certificates (SPC) and DK/EP cases will not be included, but will follow later.
Our trademark and design cases will not transition to digital post until 2019. Therefore, if you deal with trademark and design cases, you will not experience any changes in our correspondence presently. We regret that you will have to wait a bit longer before receiving your post digitally.
Foreign based Companies not affected
Foreign based companies, without a danish CVR-number, will not be receiving digital post from the Danish Patent and Trademark Office. These companies will receive physical letters as they do today.
When will you begin to receive digital post?
We are getting ready to send post digitally. We will begin the transition to digital post the 1st of September, 2018, when we will be sending all Danish patent and utility model cases to your mailbox in e-Boks.
We expect trademarks and design to trnasition to digital post on 1 January 2019. DK/EP and SPC will follow.
You can find more information on this website, which we will update with the latest news and information about digital post.
What will you receive as digital post?
From now on, you will receive all reports, invoices, receipts and letters about e.g., examination, shelving, formalities, approvals, cancellations etc. in your e-Boks.
Set up e-Boks to suit your needs
e-Boks can be configured to suit your organization. It may be a good idea to contact e-Boks user support for help of setting up your mailboxes.

If you are using IP Client
If you are using IP Client, you are already receiving your post digitally. You will continue to receive your letters in IP Client in the same way as you do today.
During a transition period, you will be met with a new screen display when accessing IP client. Here you will be asked to choose between two types of access:
- Access for those of you dealing with patent and utility model cases
- Access for those of you dealing with supplementary protection certificates (SPC), DK/EP and trademark and design cases.
